Cette œuvre est un témoignage rare du savoir-faire vannier qui s'exerçait partout sur la planète jusqu'à l'imposition du modèle industriel occidental. 
Nous rendre sensible à cette beauté simple, c’est ouvrir les yeux sur d'autres histoires et d'autres manière de faire-Histoire, une autre vision du monde. C'est choisir la vérité des matériaux, choisir de rejeter les fausses hiérarchies en art, c'est saisir la beauté où elle est, comme l'outil d'un rapport au monde mieux ajusté.

An Ordinary Masterpiece of Mingei, japanese Folk Art
Ancient wicker work

Important Hanakago, ovoid basket with handle for ikebana
Bamboo wickerwork, lacquered in reddish-brown (belly) and natural (handle), with a woven pattern combining kasumi-ami weaving (regular weaving).
The base is woven in a variation of yotsume-ami weaving.
The handle is in a simple weave with magnificent ligature details.
Beautiful black lacquered otoshi (inner vase).
Sublime natural patina and antique ash highlights.

This work is a rare testament to the basketry expertise practiced across the planet until the imposition of the Western industrial model. Sensitizing ourselves to this simple beauty opens our eyes to other stories and other ways of making history, another vision of the world. It means choosing the truth of materials, choosing to reject false hierarchies in art, it means seizing beauty where it is, as the tool for a more balanced relationship with the world.
