En Normandie autrefois, lorsque la cuisson du pain était terminée, le boulanger mettait ces cruches à boulanger dans son four encore chaud et conservait ainsi une bonne provision d'eau chaude pour le foyer.

Cette œuvre est un hommage du couple Dubost à la tradition des pots de grès du Calvados. Lorsqu'ils reprennent l'atelier de Bernard Guitton en 1966, ils définissent une collection de pots en poursuivant des fabrications anciennes et en cherchant dans les collections anciennes d'autres formes oubliées. Ils maintiennent et entretiennent le savoir-faire séculaire des grès normands, témoignage rare du savoir-faire paysan qui s'exerçait partout sur la planète jusqu'à l'imposition du modèle industriel occidental.

In Normandy in the past, when the baking of the bread was finished, the baker put these baker's jugs in his still hot oven and thus kept a good supply of hot water for the community.

This work is a tribute by the Dubost couple to the tradition of Calvados stoneware pots. When they took over Bernard Guitton's workshop in 1966, they defined a collection of pots by continuing old fabrications and by looking in old collections for other forgotten forms. They maintain and maintain the secular know-how of Norman pottery, a rare testimony to the peasant know-how which was practiced everywhere on the planet until the imposition of the Western industrial model.
